When the middle isn’t the middle…
Here we are in the middle of August 2025 and coincidentally it feels like I’ve reached a point that could also be described as being in the middle of writing the book. But wait, that’s not true! I’m actually past the 60,000 word point and so I am at least three quarters of the way through. However, this is the first time that I’ve reached a point where it ‘feels’ like I’m in the middle of writing the novel. Why? Because I can now see the road ahead that will lead me all the way to the end, and that’s the first time this has happened. It’s perhaps too early to start a countdown of words left to write but I’m now certain of where the novel is going and how it will end.
This update is also significant because it means I’m aware of the impact it will have regarding the first 2 novels. The Chronicles of Niru are coming together to form a trilogy. A series of stories that tie together and tell a wonderful tale of magic and adventure, love and loss, courage and fear. The themes may be as old as time, but the way they are told, is unique to me.
That’s all for August. Another update will no doubt follow in September when I hope to report more exciting progress.
Bye for now,
Pete. 🧙♂️
