Dragon King has been revised.

I’ve now finished another revision/edit of Dragon King. I’m staggered that there was so much to correct, having already done a complete revision not that long ago. However, it’s finished now. I’ve worked on it everyday for at least a week and have now got to the point where I’m scared to read it again, in case I find more things to change! You can end up in a place where words are being exchanged for no reason. Mistakes are being removed, but perhaps new ones are being made (let’s not go there).

The book has grown in size too. I think it’s around 1,200 words larger. This could be because I’ve now written three novels and have settled on a style that was perhaps still developing when Dragon King was first written. The good news is that I still really enjoyed reading this book! It might not sound very modest, (as my wife tells me) but it’s true. I love that it’s exciting, that it draws you in. It’s definitely a book that keeps you engaged, assuming you like the fantasy genre.

Now I’ll turn my attention to revising Olgrun. I know there are some formatting errors at the end of the novel, so it will be good to get that sorted. As this is the second book I’m hoping it will not require the kind of attention and polish that Dragon King did. After all, the more books you write, the better you are supposed to get. Let’s hope this is accurate. Once Olgrun is done then I’ll plunge into working on Belus. It’s going to be great to have a trilogy that’s ready for scrutiny. I’ve got lots to do, but I’m going to take a few days off before I get started again, a short break will be beneficial in the long run.

That’s it for now. By the way, the image above was done by ChatGPT. I quite like it. I think it looks effective. Speak again soon…
