Let’s bring you up to speed…

 

Here’s the latest news. I’m over halfway through an edit/revision of, Dragon King and Tracey is working on the Belus manuscript. Her highlighter has turned the document into a serious case of the measles, as every page is spotted with vivid pink colour! I guess I should be pleased that she’s helping, but honestly, I can do without the ‘giggles’ that are aimed squarely at my frequent mistakes…

You can guess the kind of errors - it’s the usual stuff such as: there/their or rain/reign/rein and your/you’re. Along with an inappropriate comma (I’m good at that). Sometimes it’s something completely unexpected too.

In the end I’ve learned how hard it is to edit your own work. The brain will do what the brain will do. In my case I become blind to the words as I get lost in the emotion of the story itself.

I’ll finish editing Dragon King over the next couple of weeks and then I’ll do another revision/edit of Olgrun. By then I’ll be ready to correct all the errors Tracey found in Belus before doing another full revision/edit of it again. All this work will take me right into December. I’m not sure when I’ll get done, but I’ll keep the updates coming.
