Olgrun edit is finished. What’s next?
I’ve just completed another edit of Olgrun, and so now I’ll be moving on, to concentrate on Belus. Tracey had already edited a paper manuscript of Belus and so that will be very helpful when it comes to finding mistakes.
Once I’ve finished editing all three novels I’m going to give Tracey an electronic copy of each. She’s kindly offered to work through them all again. I will also be reading them once more. I’m dearly hoping this effort will prove that I now have a trilogy that’s ready, with far fewer corrections being required. If I find myself changing lots of things again, I’ll be a little annoyed (to say the least). Hard work should pay dividends, and so I have faith, especially as Tracey will also have had another complete read of all three books.
Although this work is slow, it’s very important. I want to be proud of the trilogy. I’m not doing this full time, it’s almost like my hobby and so I don’t have a set number of hours to work per week. I just let the rhythm of life dictate what I do and when. Slowly, but surely, things are coming together. Next year I’ll approach some literary agents and see if my work grabs their attention. I’m not sure if the fantasy/dragon theme is back in fashion yet? Only time will tell. Finding the right agent will be an important search, so many of them could discard this work without even turning a page. J K Rowling didn’t find it easy, and yet eventually she had a breakthrough. I would just like my books to be read and loved. I believe in the stories and I want to share them. That’s the whole point of doing this.
Until the next update,
Take care and be well,
Pete.🧙♂️🤓
