Joe.
Happy new year everyone. I hope 2026 brings you good health and happiness.
So, out with the old and in with the new. I’ve been editing Dragon King again. This is the final edit before it is put before the scrutiny of literary agents. As part of the process I have changed the book title to Joe. Why? Because all the other novels use a person’s name as the title, and this will bring the first book in line with the rest. Not only that, but I think Dragon King is a little too well used. It has almost become a cliché of the fiction world, and is perhaps missing the street cred it once had.
I’m about a third of the way through the final edit, so work on Luna has been paused for the time being. I will then be editing Olgrun and Belus again, before recommencing work on the fourth novel.
As you can see from the image above, I’m still tinkering with artwork for the book cover. The image should stir the imagination, although that particular picture may not be the final choice.
I’ve got plenty to say about Luna, but I’ll save that for later updates, as I wish to get the final edits of the first three books completed first.
I’ve been reasonably disciplined regarding my editing routine. As a result I’m making satisfactory progress. I feel like every sentence is receiving more of my time than I would like. However, I’ve been able to make some pleasing changes, removed a few clumsy sentence structures, and made the flow better.
That’s all for now. This was just a quick update to let you know what I’ve been doing over the Christmas holiday.
Back soon,
Pete.🧙♂️
